Course Design Update
Juan Martins Deczuta - User Experience and Interaction Design Instructor CCTB
Problems being addressed:
- The material provided is not only significantly outdated but also doesn’t allow students to practice the topics they learn in lectures.
- Class activities were designed to enable students to deliver the Final Project originally assigned: a Mobile Restaurant App concept from wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes.
- Class activities will be leading the slide creation and Topics covered in class.
- New slides will be created dynamically with class activities, inspired by the material provided by the previous instructor.
- Homework activities will be designed in anticipation of the next day’s content.
- Invision and Freehand suggested for wireframing, prototyping and project organisation are going to disappear by the end of 2024.
- Figma and FigJam only for design activities are recommended.
- Students don’t know yet the basics of project management to deliver a mobile website concept using wireframe techniques and high-fidelity prototypes.
- Projects will be managed in Notion by the Instructor.
- Students don’t know yet basics of practices for Mobile site/app concept design, documentation and design team collaborations
- New class material including Personas, Site Maps, User Flows, Fundamentals of UX copywriting, and Design Critique will be created.
